Most of us hide our real, authentic selves.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bereishit (Genesis) 3.10<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u05d5\u05b7\u05d9\u05b9\u05bc\u05d0\u05de\u05b6\u05e8 \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea \u05e7\u05b9\u05dc\u05b0\u05da\u05b8 \u05e9\u05b8\u05c1\u05de\u05b7\u05e2\u05b0\u05ea\u05b4\u05bc\u05d9 \u05d1\u05b7\u05bc\u05d2\u05b8\u05bc\u05df \u05d5\u05b8\u05d0\u05b4\u05d9\u05e8\u05b8\u05d0 \u05db\u05b4\u05bc\u05d9 \u05e2\u05b5\u05d9\u05e8\u05b9\u05dd \u05d0\u05b8\u05e0\u05b9\u05db\u05b4\u05d9 \u05d5\u05b8\u05d0\u05b5\u05d7\u05b8\u05d1\u05b5\u05d0<\/span><\/p>\n

And he said, (Everything from Aleph to Tav) I heard Your Voice in the Garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I HID myself.\u00a0 Bereishit (Genesis) 3.10<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

After disobeying G-d and eating from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad, evil became mixed in their souls.\u00a0 Thus the struggle we have in refining our souls is because of this mixture of good and bad within us.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There are times when we act with good and times when we act with evil.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Adam and Chavah were meant to tend the Garden, to find the Sparks of Light that had been shattered and return them to the Ein Sof.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Now, however, Adam (man\/woman) not only has to refine the world but Adam (man\/woman) has to refine his\/her soul.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As stated in part one this Soul Journey has to begin with Anavah (humility).<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We can\u2019t fool or disguise true selves if we possess Anavah.\u00a0\u00a0 We must allow our truest selves to be seen.\u00a0 This requires that we not look at the next step in the Soul\u2019s Journey.\u00a0 That is we must become vigilant.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The concept of vigilance relates to a person\u2019s actions and affairs.\u00a0 He must contemplate and survey his actions and his conduct, to see whether they are good or not, so as not to risk the loss of his soul, Heaven forbid.\u00a0 And he must not pursue his habits thoughtlessly, the way a blind person walks [as] in darkness.\u00a0 The Path of the Just Moshe Chaim Luzzatto\u00a0 Feldheim chapter 2 page 14<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Jeremiah cautions us to be vigilant.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah) 8.6<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u05d4\u05b4\u05e7\u05b0\u05e9\u05b7\u05c1\u05d1\u05b0\u05ea\u05b4\u05bc\u05d9 \u05d5\u05b8\u05d0\u05b6\u05e9\u05b0\u05c1\u05de\u05b8\u05e2 \u05dc\u05d5\u05b9\u05d0 \u05db\u05b5\u05df \u05d9\u05b0\u05d3\u05b7\u05d1\u05b5\u05bc\u05e8\u05d5\u05bc \u05d0\u05b5\u05d9\u05df \u05d0\u05b4\u05d9\u05e9\u05c1 \u05e0\u05b4\u05d7\u05b8\u05dd \u05e2\u05b7\u05dc \u05e8\u05b8\u05e2\u05b8\u05ea\u05d5\u05b9 \u05dc\u05b5\u05d0\u05de\u05b9\u05e8 \u05de\u05b6\u05d4 \u05e2\u05b8\u05e9\u05b4\u05c2\u05d9\u05ea\u05b4\u05d9 \u05db\u05bb\u05bc\u05dc\u05b9\u05bc\u05d4 \u05e9\u05b8\u05c1\u05d1 \u05d1\u05b4\u05bc\u05de\u05b0\u05e8\u05d5\u05bc\u05e6\u05b8\u05ea\u05b8\u05dd \u05db\u05b0\u05bc\u05e1\u05d5\u05bc\u05e1 \u05e9\u05c1\u05d5\u05b9\u05d8\u05b5\u05e3 \u05d1\u05b7\u05bc\u05de\u05b4\u05bc\u05dc\u05b0\u05d7\u05b8\u05de\u05b8\u05d4<\/span><\/p>\n

I listened and heard, but they have not spoken aright; no man repented of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? Every one turned to his own course, like a horse rushing into the battle:\u00a0 Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah) 8.6<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We can\u2019t fool G-d if we are only going to make a temporary change in our character.\u00a0 We must be on guard, always vigilant so that we don\u2019t slip back into our old ways.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Being vigilant includes taking stock as it were, taking accounting for our actions each and every day.\u00a0 The people Jeremiah was talking to did not take the time to reflect on their actions and were propelled headlong into sin.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Do we know the GOOD<\/em> that we should choose?\u00a0 We start with examining, probing our deeds.\u00a0 Actions always speak louder than words.\u00a0 So we should judge our actions to see if they comply with the instructions from the Torah.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Let us search and examine our ways, and let us return to the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>Eichah (Lamentations) 3.40<\/span><\/p>\n
