Abraham received Prophecy through Words. Ha Torah was written with the Words the Lord God Spoke. Our words are significant. Our Words carry enormous power. We may use our words to flood the Universe with Tikkun Olam, i.e., Great Words of healing. Our Words may carry the message of Prophecy, hope, and healing. It is up to us! What type of conduit do we want to be? Do we want to use our words to heal or to hurt? It is up to us.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Words are sometimes like a package that needs unwrapping to be understood. Genesis chapter 15.1 is like a package of Words that requires unwrapping to receive the message inside. We will consider two different translations for Verse One.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><strong><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">(Genesis 15.1) &#8211; Typical translation to English<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">After these things\/events, The Word of The Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram; I Am your shield. And your reward will be great.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><strong><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">(Genesis 15.1) &#8211; Unwrapped translation<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">&#8216;[ <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d0\u05b7\u05d7\u05b7\u05e8 \u05c0 \u05d4\u05b7\u05d3\u05b0\u05bc\u05d1\u05b8\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05d4\u05b8\u05d0\u05b5\u05dc\u05b6\u05bc\u05d4 \u05d4\u05b8\u05d9\u05b8\u05d4 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">] After these WORDS [which are things and events] that happened <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d3\u05b0\u05d1\u05b7\u05e8\u05be\u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05d5\u05b8\u05b9\u05d4 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The Word of The Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram; I Am your shield, and your reward will be great.&#8217;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The WORD <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4\u05b7\u05d3\u05b0\u05bc\u05d1\u05b8\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Ha Di Vaw Reem means that the words, things, visions, events are a few of the multiple possibilities being communicated. Everything in the universe consists of WORDS. In this instance, Ha Torah is informing us SOMETHING HAPPENED before <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d3\u05b0\u05d1\u05b7\u05e8\u05be\u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05d5\u05b8\u05b9\u05d4 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">the Word of The Lord came to Abraham in a vision. It is easy to miss this when reading The Holy Torah in English. One needs an inquisitive mind, a desire to research, and patience to follow where the signs lead.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The WORD <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4\u05b7\u05d3\u05b0\u05bc\u05d1\u05b8\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Ha Di Vaw Reem means multiple things happened. Clues to the reference of &#8216;SOMETHING HAPPENED&#8217; immediately follow in Scripture.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">One single word written in Ha Torah has many possibilities, which are each part of The WORD <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4\u05b7\u05d3\u05b0\u05bc\u05d1\u05b8\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Ha Di Vaw Reem expresses that multiple things happened. There are some mystical explanations as well.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">(Genesis 15.1) Says, &#8216; <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4\u05b7\u05d3\u05b0\u05bc\u05d1\u05b8\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Ha Di Vaw Reem&#8217; points to a multiple of words, things, events, revelations that happened when the Lord God Came to Abraham in a vision.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">(Genesis 12.7) says,\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">And the Lord appeared to Abram, and Said, &#8216;I will give this land to your seed.&#8217; And there [Abraham] built an altar to The Lord, whom <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4\u05b7\u05e0\u05b4\u05bc\u05e8\u05b0\u05d0\u05b6\u05d4 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Ha Neer Eh that appeared to Abraham.&#8217;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">What did Abraham see? He saw a manifestation of words through Gematria. He saw the promise of a son. Abraham saw the hope of descendent&#8217;s from his son. Abraham saw that his descendent&#8217;s would possess the land. Abraham saw all this through one revelation of Prophecy from The Lord. Notice the connection between The Two Words.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4\u05b7\u05d3\u05b0\u05bc\u05d1\u05b8\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Ha Di Vaw Reem has a multiple of possible meanings with Words, Things, and Events. Mystically we also see unique Gematria relationships.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">5 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d3<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">4 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d1<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">2 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05e8<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">200 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d9<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">10 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05dd<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">40 = 261<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The Lord, who <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4\u05b7\u05e0\u05b4\u05bc\u05e8\u05b0\u05d0\u05b6\u05d4 <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Ha Neer Eh appeared to Abram<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">5 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05e0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">50 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05e8<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">200 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">1 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">5 = 261<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4\u05b7\u05d3\u05b0\u05bc\u05d1\u05b8\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Ha Di Vaw Reem is powerful whether we see it or not! Words may be full of prophecy and hope. <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4\u05b7\u05d3\u05b0\u05bc\u05d1\u05b8\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Ha Di Vaw Reem has a far-reaching impact!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">One explanation is that Abraham was an astrologist. He learned about God through astrology. Abraham saw in the stars that he and Sarah would be childless. He shared his concerns with The Lord. Now keep in mind that Abram and his wife Sarai were both prophets with high levels of Spirituality. Because they lived in the realm of Prophecy, they were steps closer to The Lord.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">(Genesis 15.2 \u2013 5) says, &#8216;And Abram said, Lord God, what will you give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is Eliezer of Damascus? And, Abram said, Behold, to me you have given no seed; and, lo, one born in my house is my heir.&#8217;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">And, behold, the word of the Lord came to [Abraham], saying, &#8216;This shall not be your heir; but he who shall come forth from your bowels shall be your heir.&#8217; And, He [The Lord] brought him [Abraham mentally] outside [up to] the Heavens and said to him, &#8216;Look downward [<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05e0\u05d1\u05d8 \u05e0\u05d0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">] to The Heavens and count the stars if you are able to count them.&#8217; And, [The Lord] Said to [Abraham], &#8216;This is how numerous your seed will be.&#8217;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Our Sages state that Abraham said to The Lord. &#8216;Master of the Universe!&#8217; Avram objected. &#8216;I have seen in the stars that I am unable to have a son!&#8217;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The Lord said to Avram, &#8216;Forget about your astrology! Your fate is above the prognosis of the stars. The Jewish nation is not subject to mazel \/luck (natural destiny)&#8217;.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">It once happened that Rabbi Yannai and Rabbi Yochanan were standing at the gates of Tiberias. They stood side by side with two [Noachide] astrologers who observed all the workers going to their jobs in the morning. [The Noachide Astrologers said to Rabbi Yannai and Rabbi Yochanan]<span style=\"color: #339966;\"> &#8216;Do you see those two workers there? They are going to die of a snake bite.&#8217;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Rabbi Yannai and Rabbi Yochanan waited until the workers returned. Among them, they saw the two workers of whom the astrologers had spoken. &#8216;Didn&#8217;t you say that they would not leave work alive but that a snake would poison them,&#8217; asked the Sages?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">&#8216;Yes!&#8217; confirmed the astrologers.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">&#8216;But then they came back in peace,&#8217; commented the Sages.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The astrologers summoned the two men and asked them, &#8216;What did you do today?&#8217;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">&#8216;The same as every morning,&#8217; they replied. &#8216;We prayed Shema and Shemoneh Esrei and went to work.&#8217;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #339966;\">&#8216;You are Jews!&#8217; exclaimed the astrologers. &#8216;the predictions of astrologers do not apply to Jews.&#8217;<\/span> <span style=\"color: #666666;\">Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says (Brooklyn, New York: Benei Yakov Publications 1980), pp 143, 144<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">What could have transpired with Abraham?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">R. Judah b. Simon said in R. Johanan&#8217;s name: He lifted him [Abraham] up above the vault of heaven; hence [The Lord] Says to him, <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u05d4\u05b7\u05d1\u05b6\u05bc\u05d8 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">[Look (Hah Beht) now toward heaven.&#8217; Sometimes our perspective changes when we get a clearer view.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">An additional explanation is The Lord Delivered Abraham from May Oor Kasdim, i.e., from the fiery furnaces.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">(Genesis 15.6 &#8211; 7) says, <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">&#8216;And [Abram] believed in The Lord, and He counted it to him for righteousness.&#8217;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">And, [The Lord] said to him, &#8216;I am The Lord who brought you out of May Ur &#8211; Kasdim, to give you this land to inherit it.&#8217;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #004586;\"><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Remember in (Genesis Chapter 12?) We discussed the events leading to Abraham being thrown into the fiery furnaces.
