Ramban gives three reasons why Jacob may have asked that question as he did.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">First, Nachor are was better known than Laban.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">Second, perhaps Laban preferred to be identified with his righteous grandfather Nachor rather than his sinful father, Bethuel.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">Third, identifying Laban as the son of Nachor was actually about identifying Laban as the nephew of Abraham. Nachor was Abraham\u2019s brother. Abraham was well known. He was a prince, a prophet, and an influential leader. Genesis 29 goes onto show how deeply Laban desired to benefit from the engagement of Rachel to Jacob, Abraham&#8217;s grandson. So while our passage uses The Word <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\"><span style=\"color: #fb0280;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">\u05d4\u05b7\u05d9\u05b0\u05d3\u05b7\u05e2\u05b0\u05ea\u05b6\u05bc\u05dd <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #fb0280;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">Hah Yih Dah Tawm to <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">identify Laban, i.e., \u2019Do You know [Laban]?\u2019 Mystically <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\"><span style=\"color: #fb0280;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">\u05d4\u05b7\u05d9\u05b0\u05d3\u05b7\u05e2\u05b0\u05ea\u05b6\u05bc\u05dd <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #fb0280;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">Hah Yih Dah Tawm<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\"> identified the depraved side of Laban. <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\"><span style=\"color: #fb0280;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">\u05d0\u05b2\u05e9\u05b7\u05c1\u05d7\u05b2\u05e8\u05b6\u05da\u05b8\u05bc<\/span><\/span> <\/span><span style=\"color: #fb0280;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">Ah Shah Chah Reh Chaw. <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">Both are the Gematria 529.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">Psalms 63.2 \/ 63.1 in the Christian Bible<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">O God, you are my God; <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\"><span style=\"color: #fb0280;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">\u05d0\u05b2\u05e9\u05b7\u05c1\u05d7\u05b2\u05e8\u05b6\u05da\u05b8\u05bc<\/span><\/span> <\/span><span style=\"color: #fb0280;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">Ah Shah Chah Reh Chaw, I seek You;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\"> my soul thirsts for You, my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land, where there is no water, i.e., \u2018where there is no Torah.\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">In actuality, Jacob was identifying that the land was dry and thirsty for water\/Torah because of the stone that covered the well of The Torah, Genesis 29.8. The sheep we&#8217;re gathered. The sheep were SEEKING\/waiting to drink water\/Torah but the shepherds we&#8217;re lazy and uncommitted. That is when Jacob steps forward to remove the stone covering the well so the thirsty flocks could be watered. Mystically Jacob identified the need for Torah.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif;\">In other words, Jacob was an extension of his grandfather, Abraham.
