Which Way To Choose<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Consider three things, and you will not come to the hands of transgression: Know what is above from you: a seeing eye, a listening ear, and all your deed are recorded in a book<\/strong>.\u00a0 Pirkei Avot 2.1<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Actions are never forgotten; they leave a mark on the person, on his environment and on other people.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This book that is written is not written by G-d but by each of us.\u00a0 It is written by our actions.\u00a0 This Book is one\u2019s soul.\u00a0 Goodness, good\/kind deeds add splendor to one\u2019s soul, unkind deeds besmirch one\u2019s soul.\u00a0 After we die our soul will give an accounting of those deeds to G-d.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Shimon the Righteous\u00a0was among the last surviving members of the Great assembly. He would say: The world stands on three things: Torah, the service of\u00a0G\u2011d, and deeds of kindness<\/strong>. Pirkei Avot 1.2<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Studying Torah builds spiritual, eternal souls out of mere mortals.<\/span><\/p>\n

Service of G-d alludes to:\u00a0 love the Lord your G-d, and to serve Him\u00a0 with all your heart and with all your soul<\/em>.\u00a0 Devarim (Deuteronomy) 11.13<\/span>\u00a0 This gives worth and wholeness to our human existence.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Deeds of Kindness (Chesed).\u00a0 The world is built by chesed. Telilim (Psalms) 89.3<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Chesed is the highest degree of pure human worth.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If I am not for myself, who is for me? <\/span><\/p>\n

And if I am only for myself<\/strong>, what am I? <\/span><\/p>\n

And if not now, when<\/strong>? Pirkei Avot 1.14<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Life is short, if we do not act now with deeds of kindness, when will we?<\/span><\/p>\n
