וַיְהִ֥י כָל־הָאָ֖רֶץ שָׂפָ֣ה אֶחָ֑ת וּדְבָרִ֖ים אֲחָדִֽים: ס

(Genesis 11.1) Says, ‘And everyone on the Earth communicated with one language and used the same Words.’ אִשָּׁה כִּי מֵאִישׁ

‘This one shall be called אִשָּׁה – isha – meaning – Woman, because this one was taken מֵאִישׁ – ish‘ – meaning – from Man – from here we learn that the Torah was given in the sacred tongue Ivrit/Hebrew. Rabbi Pinḥas and Rabbi Ḥilkiya say in the name of Rabbi Simon: Just as the Torah was given in the Holy Tongue, the world was created in the Sacred Tongue. Have you heard anyone say’ Gyne, ‘Woman’ in Greek? Gynea is the masculine form of gyne, but it is not the Greek word for ‘man,’ which is anthropos. Anthropos is man in Greek.Anthropa is the feminine form of anthropos, but it is not the Greek word for ‘woman,’ which is gyne. Gavra. Man in Aramaic is gavreta, the feminine form of gavra, but it is not the Aramaic word for ‘woman,’ which is itta. There are entirely different words for man and woman in Greek and Aramaic. But with ishand isha – one form corresponds to the other. Ivrit/Hebrew is the only language in which it makes sense to say, ‘This one shall be called Isha/Woman because this was taken from Ish/Man as isha is the feminine form of ish.’

(Genesis 1.1) Says, ‘In the beginning בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים אֵת .’

אֱלֹהִים Eh Loh Heem – meaning – God בָּרָא Baw Raw – meaning – created אֵת Ayt – meaning – God created אֵת Ayt – meaning – the Aleph Bet/Hebrew Alphabet. א Aleph is the first letter of the Aleph Bet, and ת Tav is the last letter of the Aleph Bet.

‘The Torah was given in the Holy Tongue. The world was created with the Holy Tongue.’ Hebrew was the first language to be used. Beresheit Rabba 18.4 Rabbi Avrohom Davis, The Mesudah Chumash A New Linear Translation Bereishis (Hoboken New Jersey, KTVA Publishing House, Inc., 1991) p 29 – Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series – Bereishis Vol. I(a) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), p 110 – Can we imagine this world / our world with only one language? What was it like when everyone shared the same jargon and had the same expressions? The authentic language was עִבְרִי Ee Vih Ree / Hebrew! Everything written was in Hebrew. All communication between people was only in Hebrew. Communication was easy. There were no encumbrances, misunderstandings, or false impressions. Yet the world had problems.

(Genesis 10.9-10) says, ‘[Nimrod] was a mighty hunter in the Face of [the Lord; therefore, it is said, ‘Like Nimrod, the mighty hunter in the Face of [the] Lord.’ And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, IN THE LAND OF SHINAR.’

(Genesis 10.6) Says, ‘And the sons of Ham were Kush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.’ (Genesis 10.8) Says, ‘And Kush fathered Nimrod.’ Nimrod was the king of the land of Shinar,i.e., southern Mesopotamia / Babylonia / Chaldean. King Nimrod influenced many people near the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers south of Bagdad in Iraq to make bake bricks, build a tower up into heaven, to rebel against God. (Genesis 11.2) Says, ‘And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they lived there’ in defiance to God’s directive ‘to replenish the earth.’ (Genesis 9.1).

Remember Noah’s curse? (Genesis 9.25) Says, ‘And [Noah] said, ‘Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be to his brothers.’ Nimrod is the prophetic fulfillment ofNoah’s curse in action.

(Genesis 11.5 – 9) says, ‘And [the] Lord Came down to see the city and the tower, which the sons of men built. And [the] Lord Said, Behold, the people are one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do; and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have schemed to do. Let us go down there and confuse their language, so they may not understand one another’s speech. So [the] Lord Scattered them abroad from there upon the face of all the earth, and they left off building of the city. Therefore the name of it is called Babel; because [the] Lord Confused the language of all the earth; and from there did [the] Lord Scatter them abroad upon the face of all the world.’

The Lord God did not warn those evil wicked relatives of Canaan. Their sinful actions had consequences. The Torah Narrates several points that some may try to use as a basis for their belief in God being a trinity. I am referring to the comment, ‘Let us go down which is highlighted above. Note what actually happened. One of the points the Lord God was making by saying ‘Let us go down’ in (Genesis 11.5) was to draw our attention to the word וַיֵּרֶד Vah Yay Rehd meaning to decline, diminish, sink down. The Lord did not need to go anywhere because He is everywhere. (Psalms 139.7) Says, ‘Where shall I go from your spirit? Where shall I flee from your presence?’

Those wicked people went to bed communicating in Ivrit. Then the Lord confused their language and word meanings. Then, all of the sudden, they could not communicate with each other. What a shock that was!! They could no longer read instructions, directions, letters, or books because they were written in Ivrit.

In the blink of an eye, our world’s unity of language became confused. Instantly people could no longer understand each other or the meanings of words. Communication was significantly impacted. The world’s libraries of knowledge, history, and theology became usable by most people because all communication was in Ivrit. Just about everything came to an immediate halt while people searched for others who spoke like them. People from sixty-nine different languages began seeking those with whom they could communicate. Eventually, people located and grouped with others with whom they could share. The construction of the tower stopped. Ultimately, each language group was disbursed throughout the globe. Translators and translations were now necessary to communicate.

Do we realize the significance of confusing languages? Hebrew is the Holy language. This language was no longer accessible to the unrighteous. Let’s think about that. The Lord God Introduced sixty-nine languages. What does that tell us? Confusion exists in each of the sixty-nine languages, While Ivrit/Hebrew remains pure and accurate. Following the confounding of speech, the meanings of each word were confused. The confounding of language and words impacts each of us right here and right now! We struggle with communication on many levels. Husbands and wives have issues communicating. Employers and employees work to improve their communication. Words in our age have different meanings than they used to. We wonder which definition is intended when trying to communicate meaningfully.

Translators insert words into Scripture that are not in the original language to provide readers with smoother, more comfortable sentences. How do individuals know the words from the original language from words that are inserted?

Dear Ones, words do matter. May we be mindful of the words we select. May we bring peace and healing into our world. May this coming Sabbath and every Sabbath be a blessed Day. And may we learn Hebrew The Holy Tongue. May our operating systems be purified and cleansed from Nimrod’s Malware! May our operating system be pure and holy.
