26 Whole Person
Friends, (Genesis 26) says that The Lord God Gave the Descendents of Abraham and Isaac a special commission to be a blessing to every nation on earth. We should involve ourselves in physical actions that bless others and spiritual blessings of others. The Lord God appoints the people of Israel to be the people of blessings. That means we inherited those unique depurations because Abraham obeyed ‘His Voice.’ Mortals need assurance and comfort. People need a soft, gentle, loving, kind, compassionate, patient, understanding, and enduring friend. It’s sad because that type of individual is in short supply. Not just anyone can be compassionate and understanding in the face of frustration and anger. Being a ‘Person who Blesses ‘ requires dedication to what God desires to be cool, calm, tranquil, relaxed, and unemotional because we are appointed to Bless. When an individual expresses hurt, loss, disappointment, we are to Bless. Our Blessings can comfort and soothe a troubled soul. We can make a difference. (Proverbs 11.25) says, ‘A Soul is blessed with abundance and is also refreshed because he or she refreshes others. Proverbs 11.25 While we are trying to Bless others, we can work on ourselves.
So, how is it that we are The People of Blessing? Why are we chosen to bless? (Genesis 26.5) explains why we are the people of blessing.
Because עֵקֶב [Ay Kehv] Our father, Patriarch, Abraham שָׁמַע Shema – heard – listened to – obeyed בְּקֹלִי [Bih Koh Lee] His voice and וַיִּשְׁמֹר [Vah Yeesh Mohr] kept – protected – guarded מִשְׁמַרְתִּי [Meesh Mah Rit Tee] My charge – obligations – preserving מִצְוֹתַי [MeeTz Voh Tahi] My Commandments – Observances, חֻקּוֹתַי [Hoo Koh Tahi] My Statutes and My וְתוֹרֹתָי [Vih Toro Tahi] Torahs – תּוֹרָה שֶבִּכְתָב, [Torah Sheh Bee Chih Tahv] – Torah that is in writing – Written Torah and תּוֹרָה שֶבְּעַל פֶה –[Torah Sheh Bih Ahl Peh] Torah that is on the lips – Oral Torah.
By what authority do we bless others? We bless by the authority of The Lord God of Israel.
The Descendents of Abraham and Isaac have been given the commission to be a blessing in our world. Why? (Genesis 26.3 – 5 ) says, ‘The Lord Said to Isaac ‘I will Perform the oath which I swore to Abraham, your father; And I will make your seed multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give to your seed all these countries; in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because Abraham obeyed My voice, and kept My Charge, My Commandments, My Statutes, and My Laws.’
Can we make a goal to be instruments of blessing to the nations? We are to bless and then let The Lord Take it from there. May each of us have Joy, Health, Happiness, Blessing, and Lovingkindness from studying The Holy Scripture. Our world needs descendants of Abraham with these fantastic qualities. (Proverbs 11.25) says, ‘A Soul is blessed with abundance and is also refreshed because he or she refreshes others.’
Good Sabbath and Pesach!
