Genesis 4 – Infected with Evil Seed

בייה

(Genesis 4.1) opens the door to insightful revelations that transpired during the Age of Innocence. Derek HaShem means Path of the Lord. An example of Derek HaShem is The Lord God’s Desire that Adam and Eve live in Gan Eden in the Age of Innocence forever. Everything was perfect except for one beast, the Serpent, who was more עָרוּם Aw room subtle, clever, crafty, cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made according to (Genesis 3.1). The Serpent was designed to achieve complex goals through indirect methods. The Serpent was sophisticated as well as perfect. I reiterate that the Serpent was not an angel or Satan at any time, past or present. What happened? The Serpent watched, drooled, and lusted as Adam and Eve pleasured themselves in open unabashed outdoor naked sexual encounters and became jealous. The Serpent prepared a devious plan, a trap, using sin to separate Eve from Adam. He planned to murder Adam, then beastly ravish Eve continuously. The Serpent was punished for his intentions and actions of misusing his exceptional skills. Ha Torah does not say that the first couple was more intelligent than the Serpent. Ha Torah Teaches that the male Adam was the ruler of earth and all that was in it. Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz and Rabbi Nosson Scherman, The Artscroll Tanach Series – Bereishis Vol. I(a) (Brooklyn, New York: Mesorah Publications, Ltd. 3rd Impression, 1989), p 115 The Serpent’s lustful mission was to divide the first couple.

(Zohar 1.36b) says, ‘Kayin was born from the union of the Serpent and Eve.’ There are varying Interpretation’s. Some imply that the Serpent tasted the milk and then planned the wicked entrapment of Eve. Ezra the Scribe wrote in (2 Esdras 4.30-31), ‘A grain of the evil seed was sown in the heart [of the female] Adam from the beginning. Can we know how much ungodliness has been brought forward to our time?’ The Talmud (Shabbat 146a) says, ‘The Serpent came upon Eve, and he injected a lust into her.’ Having shared this, (Genesis 4.1) says, ‘And Adam knew Eve, his wife; and she conceived, and bore Cain.’ Was that after copulating with the Serpent? I don’t know. Or is this Scripture a refutation of any sexual contact between Eve and the Serpent? There appears to be some sexual confusion immediately following the Age of Innocence. Eve’s first chronological comment in Ha Torah was, ‘I have acquired a man from the Lord.’ That would seem to dispel any confusion.

After sinning, Adam, Eve, Cain, and his sister/wife were expelled from Gan Eden. They were no longer pure. The sins of one became the sins of all. Humankind had become infected and could no longer be trusted to follow Derek HaShem. (Genesis 3.22-24) says, ‘And the Lord God Said, [singular] Behold, הָאָדָם Haw Aw Dawm [referring to the male Adam and the female Adam] has become like one of us, [referring to His Hosts] knowing good and evil.’ The Age of Innocence concludes. Humanity leaves Derek HaShem. The Shechinah that engulfed their body departed. They were naked/bare, i.e., without good deeds. At this point, it was necessary to isolate humans from entering Gan Eden. All creation sought revenge from Adam and Eve. The Lord God Made protective clothing from shed snake skin and goat’s hair to keep them safe from retribution. Now, it was necessary to prevent humankind from eating fruit from the Tree of Life. We continue – ‘and now, what if he puts forth his hand, and also takes from the tree of life, eats, and lives forever; So the Lord God Sent him out from Gan Eden, to till the ground from where he was taken. So he drove out the [הָאָדָם Haw Aw Dawm]; and He placed Kerubim at the east of Gan Eden with a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way of the tree of life.’

After being sent out of Gan Eden, Adam and Eve have another sexual rendezvous which is significantly different from their first. The birth of Cain, his twin sister/wife in Gan Eden, was different from that of Abel and his two twin sisters / his two wives outside Gan Eden after sin, judgment, and punishment. Cain and his twin sister left Eve’s womb as fully developed adults. There was no pain or discomfort for Eve. Immediately following a sexual relationship with Adam, they were born. Abel and his twin sisters were born just outside of Gan Eden. They were also fully developed adults. However, Eve had much pain and suffering, as The Lord Said in (Genesis 3.16),‘ To the woman He Said, I will greatly multiply the pain of your childbearing; in sorrow, you shall bring forth children; and your desire shall be to your husband, and he shall rule over you.’ Eve’s punishment for bringing death to Adam and all creation was, First, the pain of childbearing; Second, sorrow/depression; Third, desiring, longing, and craving man, i.e., Adam, her husband. The fourth was being dominated by [your husband]. ‘He shall rule, have dominion, reign over you.’Ha Torah / God’s Word differs from feminists on a woman’s right over her body. Husbands have the rule within Derek HaShem. It’s simple. I appointed my wife to be Boss / Manager according to (Proverbs 31.10 – 31). ‘A Praiseworthy WIFE who can find? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts in her, and he shall have no lack of gain. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life…’ Holy Scripture Teaches us proper behavior, respect, and responsibilities.

Man has brought many sicknesses upon himself and others through harmful chemicals and dangerous pesticides that he uses to kill and control thorns and thistles. Why was the ground cursed? The Lord God Said to mother earth in (Genesis 1.26), ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.’ You are earth. I am Spirit. Man’s body will return to you. Man’s Spirit will return to Me. Rabbi Moshe ben Maim , i.e., (RAMBAM—Maimonides), The Commandments, Volume One-Positive Commandments, Translated by Rabbi C. Chavez (Brooklyn, NY: The Soncino Press, Ltd., 1967), p51- (Ecclesiastes 12.7) says, ‘the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the Spirit returns to God who gave it.’

(Genesis 3.14) says, ‘the Lord God Said to the Serpent, Because you have done this, you are cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon your belly shall you go, and dust shall you eat all the days of your life.’ Humanity is constituted from dust. ‘From dust, you were taken, and to dust, you shall return.’ Even though the Serpent can no longer speak, he slithers through the dust that our bodies originated from. Infection from sin and lust has impacted everyone. Wondering off from Derek HaShem impacts each of us. Teshuva/Return/Repentance brings transformation, restoration improvement, and stability in following Derek HaShem. The Torah of HaShem is perfect.

(Proverbs 3.1-7) says, ‘My son, forget not my Torah; but let your heart keep my Commandments; For the length of days, long life, and peace, shall they add to you. Let not grace and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart; So shall you find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and depart from evil.’

(Jeremiah 9) teaches us that HaShem ‘exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth.’ Why? for in these things I delight, says the Lord.’

May we use the tools of Ha Torah to restore, heal, and bring peace to ourselves and others. We can succeed despite past sins and mistakes. We can lift ourselves and others up.
